I am so excited to launch my website! Here is a little background so everyone can get to know me. I started dance at a young age. where I met my best friend Victoria!
I am an only child. I was always very sassy and confident as a little kid as you can see in the picture below.
Skipping ahead a couple years, I started raising awareness and money for Kidney Disease when I was nine. In 2012, I brought home my first puppy, Izzy! Then in 2014 we brought home our second puppy, Choco!
Through Junior high and High School I trained at the School of Alberta Ballet, and in my final year I would be dancing five nights a week, 5:00pm-10:00pm. 2015 was the year I started pageants, my little cousin has Kidney Disease, I saw pageants as a great platform to raise awareness for Kidney disease and hopefully make a difference. Another reason why I became involved in pageants was because of Patti Falconer. Before Patti came into my life, I had been diagnosed with horrible social anxiety, the thought of even talking to a stranger was terrifying let alone speaking in front of an audience. Patti knew competing in Miss Teen Calgary would be a huge step but I trusted her and I joined the pageant. Since then I have spoken on stage at a national pageants where I spoke in front of hundreds of people. If it wasn't for Patti, I wouldn't be the person I am today.
Being involved in the pageant world has given me countless life and growth experiences. I competed for Miss Teen Calgary three years in a row, eventually winning in 2017. Only a couple months after giving up my Miss Teen crown, I competed in Miss Calgary 2018 and I unexpectedly received the honour of being crowned!
I am so grateful for the opportunities that have allowed my “voice” to be heard. One of the fondest memories pageants has given me is knitting stuffed animals for children with kidney disease and being able to give them out at Kids Kidney Camp this last summer.
This past year has been the biggest year of my life, I graduated High School with honours, finished dance, competed in my first national pageant, started University majoring in psychology and much more. I am so grateful for all my friends and family who stuck by my side and have helped me through all the crazy ups and downs.
Currently in my spare time I love Volunteering in my community. One of the places I have the honour of volunteering at is Youth Link Calgary. Youth Link is a City of Calgary Police Services program designed to prevent Calgary’s youth from falling through the cracks of social influences and pressures in society. Another Charity I hold close to my heart is PALs. PALs is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of individuals through pet therapy. Currently Izzy my first puppy is a PALs dog, while my second dog Choco is still in training.
In the future my ultimate goal is to become a Human Rights Lawyer. One of my passions is helping people, and by becoming a lawyer I will hopefully be able to improve the lives of others. Anyways, thank you so much for taking the time to check out my first post! I hope you enjoyed it!
